December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, in recognition of the 14 young women who lost their lives at Polytechnique Montreal on December 6, 1989.
Dalhousie WiE holds an annual December 6th ceremony to honour the 14 women who lost their lives in the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre, and to show our spirit and perseverance as women in engineering. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join.

Social Events
Dalhousie WiE social events for students on to encourage socialization between peers and create a sense of community on campus. These events are designed so that students may take a break from studies to de-stress and unwind! These events have included, follow-along Paint Night, T-Room Trivia Night, a Study & Social at the T-Room and our weekly Sexton gym hour for female-identifying students.
Orientation Day Tie Dye
Dalhousie WiE organizes a yearly Orientation Tie Dye event on Sexton campus for incoming engineering students. This is a chance for students to personalize their provided “Dal Eng” T-shirts with provided dyes and supplies by Dalhousie WIE, meet their peers and introduce students to Dalhousie WiE!
